Gathering
The afternoon after the bonfire night, an autumn Sunday: make soba, fold gyoza and paint the turning mountains in watercolour. Bring your own ingredients and paints; we are amateurs at all three. It is about an unhurried afternoon of making things up in the mountains, not about getting it right. When it turns cold, the All-in Camp's warm Kotatsu Lounge. 12 places.
Stargazing
Our larches in autumn colour by day; on a clear night, a moonless sky and the fire. Find the stars with a chart printed for tonight, and when it turns cold, the All-in Camp's warm Kotatsu Lounge. Free if you stay that night, whether on the All-in Camp, Field only or a car stay.
Cook together
A night around Thai mookata: a dome grill with a moat of soup, on cassette stoves. My wife, who is from Thailand, shows how it works; she is not a chef, and everyone cooks their own. Bring your meat and vegetables and share a table with people you have not met yet, up in the winter mountains.

Pizza night again, on the first day of the long weekend. We are still amateurs learning the oven. Bring your dough and toppings and bake your own; the queue for the oven is where people get talking, up in the mountains before the snow.

Takoyaki and hot pot on the roofed deck. Gather round the takoyaki plates and table stoves; good at flipping or hopeless, everyone is welcome. We are amateurs at takoyaki too. Bring your ingredients and make a long mountain night a warm one.

Light charcoal in a shichirin, toast dried fish or mochi, and look up at the night sky. We are still beginners with both shichirin and stars. Bring your food, gather round the fire and take it slow, up in the winter mountains.
