Hi, I'm Kenji. With my wife and a few stubborn friends, I brought an old resthouse back as our own workplace at 1,444m, with no houses for 7km. We welcome guests Thursday to Monday (to arrive on Tue/Wed, ask us on LINE). Fiber desk by day, tent and fire at night. (Oat-milk latte: still working on it.)

At 1,444m, Tsumagoi's All-in Camp is ¥6,500/night solo (¥7,200 from Nov 1) with the Kotatsu Lounge 24 hours (fibre desks), hot showers, the shared kitchen and the gym included — you sleep in your tent on the field. Day use ¥2,000 (kitchen included). Seven nights takes −15% (standard-era solo 7N ≈ ¥42,800) — the deepest rate; stays cap at 7 nights.
I lived in Singapore for more than 20 years, and by the end the city had worn me down. Back in Japan we drove out of Tokyo to camp every weekend and crawled home through Sunday traffic, until we decided to build a place where you can work and camp at once. We found this one on the Manza Highway: an old roadside resthouse, empty for more than five years, chairs still stacked on the tables, mice and insects everywhere. One look out of the windows and we'd decided. From summer 2025 my wife and I spent a year bringing it back. On the coldest winter nights we pitched a tent inside the hall and kept working from inside it. Now the hall has double glazing and heating and stays warm on nights well below freezing; guests sleep outside, in their own tent or car. "The colder the night, the closer we get." That first winter, in the tent, is where we learned it.
I built Tsumagoi for people who want to work in quiet and bake pizza by the fire under the stars. Families and teams are welcome: there is no playground and no room service, so the fun starts with pitching your own tent and lighting your own fire. Day use exists, but this place is three hours from Tokyo; you'll miss the sunset over Asama-Shirane, the plateau going quiet at 22:00, and Manza Onsen about 10 min away (about 15 in winter) if you leave before dark. One night is bookable; by the second night you have settled into mountain time. Pack a layer, a sleeping bag, your laptop.
