Where does the car go?
In the car park
- There are no numbered bays: we'll tell you where to park before you arrive.
- You park on the asphalt big car park (not the grass), and we take 5 vehicles a night.
- The rate is per vehicle and covers 2 guests, the parking place, the toilets and the shared kitchen.
- Your parking position and the space right beside the car are yours: set out a tarp, chairs, table and fire stand there.
- Up to 4 people per car. A group of 5 or more? Ask us on LINE (@012pteqb) or Instagram (@tsumagoicamp).
- Pitch your tarp off the car or hold it down with weights (asphalt takes no pegs). For pegs and the lawn, switch to the Camp plan (+¥2,500; +¥3,900 from 1 Nov for 2, payable on site).
- Enjoy a fire on a fire stand with a fire sheet under it (no fires on the ground). Cold ash goes in the ash can by the entrance.
- Cook on gas stoves, or use the shared kitchen.
- Kerosene stoves are fine outdoors or under a tarp, somewhere with air flow. Inside a tent, only with a carbon-monoxide checker in the tent (bring your own, or rent ours). Never inside the car: carbon monoxide can kill.
On the grass field
- Only 4WD vehicles may drive onto the field and park there, at your own risk.
- If stuck, call your own JAF — we do not tow.
- Sleeping on the field, or setting up a tarp, table or fire stand on it, is a tent-night price even if you sleep in the car.
- The field is unlit: after dark, drive slowly with headlights on.
- Free gear carts are at the entrance.
- You can switch on the day: pay the difference on site, by cash, card (at the indoor shop) or PayPay.
- Campervans and RVs are welcome: in the big car park it is the car stay; parked on the field for the night it is a pitch at the Camp rate (driving onto the grass at your own risk).
Toilets, kitchen and shop
- While guests are staying, the building entrance is left open: use the toilets, the shared kitchen and fridge, and the shop with no code.
- There is no door code: Sennin Kenji is on site and opens up, so message us on LINE when you arrive.
Pets
- Pets are welcome. There are no area limits in the car park or on the field.
- Keep your pet on a lead on site, and pick up after it.
- Inside buildings: a lead and manner wear.
- Never leave food outside: bears and other wildlife visit.

It gets truly dark at night.
There are no lamps on the lot: only the lodge windows, and stars when the sky is clear. You can park from 12:00 until 11:00 the next day.
Arriving after dusk is fine.

- Arrive any time, including after dark.
- The car park has no lights: after dark, drive slowly with headlights on and bring a light.
From 22:00, the night is quiet.

Car stay in winter
- We are open all year: car stay works in the snow too.
- Winter tyres are required from November to April.
- No new check-ins 7–21 Dec 2026.
- Snow clearing is best effort: the hermit clears it by hand, so heavy snow on the day may not be cleared in time.
- In winter, message us on Instagram (@tsumagoicamp) or LINE (@012pteqb) before you come. The live camera on the home page shows the snow.
- On a cold night, warm up with a hot shower (¥500 per person) or in the heated Kotatsu Lounge (+¥2,000 per person per night, 9:00–21:00). At night (21:00–9:00), the midnight pass (¥4,000) opens the lounge (closed Tue and Wed nights). You sleep in your car.
