The deck chair is open to every plan. Doing nothing is serious practice.

Handheld fireworks — yes

Handheld/toy fireworks welcome — we have no neighbors for 7 km.
Launched and rocket types are not allowed (handheld and fountain types only).
Use the designated gravel area with a bucket of water; call it off in strong wind. Cold embers go in the ash cans.

BYO tent sauna — yes

Bring-your-own tent sauna welcome — stove, firewood, and cold-plunge tub are all yours to bring.
We do not provide, rent, or operate any sauna (operator-provided bathing needs a Public Bath House Act permit).
Pitch well away from tents, keep a water bucket at the stove, embers to the ash cans, and never sauna alone.

Stargazing, all night

The field is unlit at night, with no homes or buildings within 7 km.
Telescopes and star trackers welcome. Aim for new-moon weekends.

Drones — yes

Drone flights welcome (outside any DID / populated-area zone).
Registration, Remote ID, line-of-sight, under 150 m — Aviation Act compliance is the pilot’s responsibility. Night flight needs separate approval.
Please don’t overfly other guests.

Charter days: no volume limit

No quiet hours on full-venue charter days — amps, karaoke, fire-circle talks past midnight.
No neighbors within 7 km means nobody to disturb.
On Open Days (public days), quiet hours 22:00–08:00 apply.

Arriving on a Tuesday or Wednesday? Ask us on LINE or Instagram. Guests already here can stay on through midweek.
The building entrance is left open while guests are staying. There is no door code: Sennin Kenji is on site and opens up, so message us on LINE when you arrive.
Check-out by 11:00, please.

Parking & Car Stay

Spacious lot (100+ spaces, free).
A 4WD may drive onto the field and park beside your pitch, and entry is at your own risk. If stuck, call your own JAF; we do not tow. Any other vehicle stays in the big carpark.
Car-camping is in the asphalt big car park (not the grass): 5 vehicles/night, no numbered bays, and we tell you where to park before you arrive. Book Car Stay.
A tent on the field is Camp price, and so is setting up a tarp, table or fire stand on the field, even if you sleep in the car.
Pitch your tarp off the car or hold it down with weights (asphalt takes no pegs). For pegs and the lawn, switch to the Camp plan (+¥2,500; +¥3,900 from 1 Nov for 2, payable on site).
No dedicated bay pedestal. Pull from the pump-room outer wall with your own 20m+ outdoor cord (paid, cap 2). No electric heaters; small appliances under 100 W are fine.
You can drive in and out after dark. The field and car park are unlit, so drive slowly with headlights on and bring a light.
The field and the tracks are unpaved — walking pace on gravel and grass. Punctures or vehicle damage from pegs and debris aren’t compensated; spot something sharp, tell the host.

Fire, wildlife & emergencies

Fire

Fire stand required, no open ground fires.
Cold ash and charcoal go in the ash cans to the right of the front door — not in the rubbish bags.
Fires are fine in the car-stay car park (asphalt) too: put a fire sheet under your fire stand.
Cook on gas stoves, or use the shared kitchen. Kerosene stoves are fine outdoors or under a tarp, somewhere with air flow. Inside a tent, only with a carbon-monoxide checker in the tent (bring your own, or rent ours). Never inside the car: carbon monoxide can kill.
Three extinguishers: the Kotatsu Lounge, entrance, and the outdoor yard.

Smoking

No smoking anywhere indoors (heated tobacco and vapes included).
Outdoors, smoke by the ash cans or carry a portable ashtray — a dropped butt on dry grass is how field fires start.
The fuel yard and the kerosene tank area on the building’s north side are strict no-fire zones — no smoking there either.

Wildlife

Bears, snakes, wasps and other wildlife may visit.
Don't leave food or trash in your tent — keep it in your car (the building is closed to campers after midnight).
Bear spray welcome if you have one.
Bear spray rents at ¥500 a night. Returned unused (safety clip on, never sprayed), the rent is all you pay, and it is not refunded. Sprayed even once, a test spray included: ¥5,500 for the can (tax included) on top of the rent, and the can is yours to keep.

Nearest 24h hospital: Nishi-Agatsuma Fukushi Hospital (0279-83-7111). Call 119 first in an emergency — it is a mountain road, and winter conditions change the drive substantially.
At night, or when the host is out, call 119 / 110 first for any danger. The host answers LINE (@012pteqb) on a best-effort basis — an instant reply isn’t guaranteed.

Valuables

Please lock valuables in your car rather than leaving them in your tent.
Cameras monitor the entrance and shared areas. Report anything suspicious to the host on LINE.

Water

Our water is well water.
It passed the official 11-item water-quality test on 8 Aug 2026 (Gunma Analysis Center, certificate No. B00907), so it is safe to drink. Certificate: tsumagoi.kensaur.us/gallery/water-quality-certificate-2026.webp. The unmanned store also sells drinks.
It’s a well, so never leave taps running. Long showers, extra guests, or heavy rain and drought can mean outages or cloudy water — tell the host if anything seems off.

Power

Phone and laptop charging is free — use any outlet in the building.
Electric space heaters, hair dryers, and your own cooking appliances don’t go in the building outlets — the mountain grid runs the building (paid AC is the two pump-room spots; our FF diesel heater allowed).
Event sound and lighting draw from designated circuits within the published Power Budget of 2.0 kW (provisional). Above that, bring a pre-approved very-low-noise inverter. We do not rent a production battery.
If a breaker trips, reset it once; if it trips again or shows a leak warning, message the host on LINE. We can’t cover damage to your gear from outages or grid blinks. No EV charging.

Shop

Ice, snacks, cup noodles, soft drinks, and canned drinks in the shared kitchen.
Car-stay guests may use the kitchen, the fridge and the shop too.
Alcohol is not sold on-site — please buy before you arrive.
Basic seasoning is on hand; bring your favourites so nothing falls flat.
Pay by cash (in the box), card (at the indoor shop) or PayPay. Unmanned — please don't forget to pay!

Pets, quiet hours & waste

Garbage

Take-home is preferred.
On-site disposal: buy official Tsumagoi Village rubbish bags ¥100 each at the shop, then a disposal fee per bag of ¥600 (we drive it 40 minutes each way to the disposal site). Do not overfill; tie both ears. A bag with a hole or a leak needs a new bag. Two streams: burnable (yellow, 60L) / non-burnable, cans and glass together (clear, 40L).
Food scraps, paper, plastics, and PET go in burnable (crush PET bottles and empty them; labels and caps are fine). Cans and glass share one bag (crush the cans). Unsorted bags can’t be collected.
Two streams = two bags and two disposal fees. Ash goes in the ash cans; batteries, oversized items, and household trash go home with you.
Garbage left behind or unsorted is billed at the actual cost of collection, sorting, and haulage — minimum ¥15,000 per party.

Where you sleep

You sleep in your tent on the field or your vehicle in the big carpark.
No sleeping in the lounge: sleep in your tent. The Kotatsu Lounge is for working, reading, board games, tea and warming up.
A Car Stay (Stopover) booking means sleeping inside your vehicle in the asphalt big car park (5 vehicles/night). Overnight on the field is a tent-night price, and so is setting up a tarp, table or fire stand on the field, even if you sleep in the car. Pitching a tent? Book All-in Camp or Field only.
The Kotatsu Lounge comes with All-in Camp, 24 hours, every night. Field only and Car Stay guests can add the daytime lounge (9:00–21:00) for ¥2,000/person/night (from 21:00 it is the midnight pass). Showers are ¥500 per person per 20-minute slot, booked online at /shower or paid on site.

Capacity & headcount

Open Days run at 5 groups / 40 guests per night, events at 50 as standard — what a mountain well and septic system serve with ease. Events of 51 or more open the outside public toilet and are by enquiry (up to 150 in all).
Headcount means everyone who uses the water and toilets, whatever their age — a child counts as one guest at the same rate as an adult. There is no child rate.
Entry is for the booking party as declared; bookings can’t be resold or transferred.
Undeclared companions are charged ¥8,000/person/night on top of the stay rate.

Pets welcome

The whole field is pet-friendly — well-behaved dogs welcome.
Pets are welcome on a car stay and in the car park too. Keep them on a lead on site.
Pick up after your pet. Never leave food outside: bears and other wildlife visit.
You are responsible for any disturbance to other guests or local animals.
In the Kotatsu Lounge
Pets may come into the Kotatsu Lounge too: dogs of any size, cats and other pets.
Please do not put them on sofas, chairs, or tables (bring a mat for the floor, or a carrier / crate).
Inside the building, please use a leash and a sanitary garment (manners pants).
The toilet is outdoors, and you clean up after your pet.
Only pets that have had both the rabies and the combination vaccine.
If they soil or damage anything, we bill the actual cleaning and repair cost.
If barking continues, we may ask you to move them outside.
Do not leave a pet alone in the lounge or kitchen.

Quiet Hours

On Open Days, please keep it down 22:00–08:00 — lights down too.
Showers close at 22:00 with quiet hours (toilets stay open 24h).
Noise that continues after a warning can end a stay — without refund.
The midnight pass hours (21:00–9:00) are silent (on an event night, from 22:00): no calls or conversation, and headphones for any sound.
Let's share the stars and the quiet.
On full-venue charter days, quiet hours are lifted — the mountain belongs to one group.

Rule violations & removal

Rule issues get a warning first — we ask you to fix it. If it continues after the warning, the stay can end with no refund.
Immediate removal, no warning, no refund: open fires outside a fire stand or in no-fire zones, quiet-hours noise continuing after a warning, violence or endangering others, refusing the host’s safety instructions.
Removal doesn’t cancel cleaning or restoration costs — see the Terms for details.
