Thai mookata night with Waralee

A night around Thai mookata: a dome grill with a moat of soup, on cassette stoves. Waralee, who is from Thailand, shows how it works; she is not a chef, and everyone cooks their own. Bring your meat and vegetables and share a table with people you have not met yet, up in the winter mountains.

  • Up to 16 guests
  • 17:00–21:00. Stay guests can check in from 12:00.
  • Mookata is a Thai grill: meat on the central dome, vegetables simmering in the soup around it. On the roofed deck we lend the pans, cassette stoves and gas; Waralee shows how it works, and you do the cooking.
  • Bring your own meat, vegetables, sauces and soup base (pork belly, prawns, glass noodles and leafy greens are the classics). The hosts supply no food. If you share a dish, label its allergens on a card.
  • Bring your own drinks; we do not sell alcohol. Nobody drives after drinking, so stay the night.
  • Free if you stay that night at Work&Camp, Camp or on a car stay: pick the 'Staying with us that night' ticket on Luma and give your reservation name.
  • This night runs if 4 walk-in tickets are paid for by Wed 11 Nov, 20:00 JST. If not, we call it off and you choose: a full refund, or a free bonfire night instead. We tell you by 21:00 that day. Stay bookings stand either way.
  • If a heavy-rain, storm or heavy-snow warning is out, we call it off by 18:00 the day before and refund in full.
  • Your own gear and fuel are welcome. The shop sells firewood (¥1,000 a basket), charcoal (about 3 kg, ¥1,500), fire starters, cans ¥200 and bottles ¥250 (cash, card or PayPay).
  • Outdoors at 嬬恋牧場Work&Camp (Plus Code HGQ5+PW Tsumagoi). From November, come on snow tyres. Questions: LINE @012pteqb. Sale terms: tsumagoi.kensaur.us/tokusho.
  • Nights are cold: dress for winter (November's normal low is −0.7 °C, JMA Tashiro). The field is unlit at night, so bring a light.

Tickets are sold on Peatix and Luma, not on this site.
